Teacher in Residence in ESL/EAP Programs

 

The Applied Linguistics Department of The Pennsylvania State University invites applications for a Teacher in Residence position.  The Teacher in Residence will be assigned to teach or tutor in the Department’s various English language programs or to provide coordination and communication support for the Department’s language programs and initiatives.  The start date for this position is August 2017.  This is a one-year (fall and spring semesters), non-tenure track appointment.  Master’s Degree required and applicants with the Penn State MA/TESL degree are preferred.  Additionally, excellent academic performance in the Penn State MA TESL program, superlative performance in APLNG 500 teaching practicum and APLNG 595 tutoring internship preferred.  Evidence of active interest in language teaching, such as volunteer and community-based teaching and tutoring, and an in-person interview will be strongly weighed.  To be considered for this position, applications must be submitted electronically.  Include (1) a formal cover letter detailing relevant qualifications for this job, (2) a curriculum vitae with the names and contact information of three people who can provide letters of reference listed, and (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness.  Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.  Apply online at https://psu.jobs/job/70364
