• The 2018-19 Core Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program competition is now open and accepting applications. We invite you to consider applying for a Fulbright U.S. Scholar award, and also invite you to encourage your colleagues to be a part of this important international experience. Below you’ll find some ways you can get involved.
• 1.        Consider applying to teach or research – Explore the Catalog of Awards (http://awards.cies.org) and contact us with any questions regarding specific opportunities. Highlights include:

• ·          Jordan: Experienced TEFL/TESOL scholars are in high-demand at Jordanian Universities. Scholars will teach university-level students and may also lead training programs, develop curricula, and conduct workshops to build assessment capacity. A Ph.D. and expertise in curriculum and materials development is highly desirable, and a minimum three years of college-level teaching or teacher training experience is required.
  
  
  
• ·          Turkey: Ihsan Dogramaci Bilkent University in Ankara is eager to host a scholar to teach graduate courses at its English language teacher-training program. The scholar will also supervise master’s student theses, conduct training programs and workshops, and assist in the development of curricula. A Ph.D. in TEFL/TESOL, second language acquisition, applied linguistics or a closely related field is preferred.
  
  
  
• ·          Estonia: Experts in English language teacher training are sought to teach undergraduate and graduate courses for up to 9 months at Narva College. Scholars may also participate in research on multiculturalism and multilingualism, which is a priority research area. Masters-level applicants with at least five years of teaching experience at the tertiary level may apply.
  
  
  
• ·          Taiwan: Based at a major university in Taipei, scholars interested in this award will have the opportunity to conduct research and assist in the development of resource material development, testing and evaluation and program design and implementation. Many TEFL specializations are welcome, particularly those with a focus on elementary/middle school education and teacher training. Applicants must have a Ph.D./Ed.D. and a minimum of three years of teaching experience, or an M.A. and a minimum of five years of teaching experience.
  
  
  
• ·          Morocco: TEFL is a top priority in Morocco, which offers flexible grant lengths (three to 10 months) starting in September 2018. Three options are available: full-time research; full-time teaching; or a combination of teaching and research, often split semester by semester. A Ph.D. is strongly preferred, along with at least three years teaching experience.

• 2.        Refer your U.S. colleagues to receive information about the Fulbright U.S. Scholar Program. IIE/CIES will contact all referrals, providing valuable information about the award offerings and application process. You can also list your colleagues’ primary discipline or preferred country, which will allow us to tailor our guidance.
